Vucacious Catering is a creative marketing agency that speaks in food. Our mission is to translate your personal vision or brand identity into a truly memorable dining experience – whether it be for a personal friends and family affair, or in support of your branding, marketing, and business goals.

With our sister restaurant, Sorry not Sorry, we are a turnkey resource for events, with off-premise food, alcoholic beverage, staffing, rental, and event coordination capabilities. We proudly source nearly all our produce from the Santa Monica Farmers Market and focus on serving fresh, seasonal foods in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura Counties, and beyond.

Vucacious is a Minority and Woman Owned Small Business with pending SBA 8(a) certification and we are committed to creating innovative and flexible food and beverage solutions for both on-premise and off-premise clients.

Meet Our Owner & Executive Chef

Chef Kim Vu is a Master Chef, media personality, scientist, and successful serial entrepreneur. She takes pride and is passionate about using her wealth of experience to lead the Vucacious team in producing customer-focused, solutions-oriented, innovative, elevated – and seamlessly executed culinary experiences to our diverse range of clients.

& Serial Entrepreneur

Vucacious Catering’s Chef Kim Vu is a master chef and caterer with more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of the restaurant, catering, and food hospitality industry. She has excelled at front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant roles, learning effective processes that contribute to the success of both single-concept restaurants and catering events for large groups and intimate gatherings.

Chef Kim is also a Caltech-trained research scientist, who brings scientific precision to her food preparation, menu planning, and event execution.

She mentored with the area’s top private chefs, completing a Master Chef Apprenticeship in 2009, and learned the catering craft at several of southern California’s best-known catering companies.

Chef Kim launched Vucacious Catering in 2012 to perfect the art of catering as a hospitality-centric business, founded on excellent customer service, delicious dishes, and flawless execution.

While she is classically trained in an array of culinary techniques, Chef Kim draws from her diverse heritage as a Texas-born, Vietnamese-American living in Los Angeles to inform and present her food.

Chef Kim has also made a number of TV appearances, including Alton Brown’s Cutthroat Kitchen and was featured in INSESSION’s season one episode, “Entertaining at Home with Chef Kim Vu,” produced in partnership with WestEdge Design Fair and the 2020 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. Chef Kim is also the Chef in Residence for the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
